Author & Creator

Hi, I’m Rachelle, though when I’m creating, I go by R.A. Shell. I’m a writer and creative and a big believer in the magic of the mind.

Creating picture books lets me live in a world where joy is the only driving force. It's a place where smiling and laughter aren't just welcome, they’re the top priority. In this space, you're allowed to dream big, wild, impossible dreams and mix them freely with the real world. There's a kind of magic in that freedom. It reminds me that wonder isn’t just for kids; it’s for anyone brave enough to believe in it.

When I’m Not Writing…

When I’m not writing, I’m soaking up life with my son Alex and our tiny maltipoo, Pippin. Most days, you’ll find us exploring mountain trails, relaxing by the river near our forest home, diving into middle-grade fantasy books, jet-setting to explore new countries, getting our hands messy with pottery, or zipping off on our electric motorcycle in search of the perfect picnic spot.

Tiny T. Rex and the Impossible Hug by Jonathan Stutzman – The most perfectly executed balance of sweet and funny! It’s heartwarming, hilarious, and just plain adorable.

Favorite Family Book:

Favorite Country:

Alex and I are completely over the moon for Switzerland. Towering mountains with playgrounds perched at the top, storybook houses adorned with flower boxes and the fact that you can travel the whole country by train? Absolute magic.

Favorite Pastime:

There is nothing like chasing sunlight to the summit on Pixie, our trusty e-dirt bike. Especially with Pippin riding shotgun in his pup pack, ears flapping like tiny flags of joy. Its like a little bit of fairy dust on two wheels.

Favorite Character

Winnie the Pooh - always present, always grateful, and endlessly joyful over the little things. Life doesn’t have to be complicated to be sweet. His gentle spirit is a constant reminder to slow down, appreciate the now, and find magic in the everyday.

Your inner world is quietly orchestrating the reality around you… so make sure you tune into gratitude and positivity.
